City Gears Up to Buy 150 Lower Deck Buses

Jakarta government will buy 150 lower deck buses. It is targeted could be bought by the end of this year. Later on, the would be assigned to replace regular transport in Jakarta.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama disclosed the lower deck bus is friendly with the disabilities. He wants to give qualified bus to the residents.
"We want to replace our bus with lower deck. We also want to widen the sidewalk," he stated, at City Hall, Monday (10/3).
Lower Deck Bus Passes Feasibility TestThe bus type low entry will be bought, such as offered by PT United Tractors Tbk (UT). Sweden Trade Minister, Ann Linde gave offer to him.
As planned, Basuki would buy 150 buses from such company. It is targeted to be operated by the end of this year.
"We have ordered 150 units. The bus brand is the best Europe," he expressed.
Relaying on Beritajakarta.com's data, Basuki along with Ann Linde try to drive lower deck bus at City Hall. The single bus colored blue is different with the previous Transjakarta bus.
The bus has one main door. Its high can be set to ease exit and enter access of the passenger, especially those who use wheelchair.
PT Transjakarta Director, Budi Kaliwono disclosed one unit is worth Rp 2.5 billion. His party has allocated Rp 2.2 billion to buy the bus.
"We get the government capital (PMP) amounting to Rp 2.2 trillion. We use it for bus provision. We also plan to borrow fund to Bank DKI," he finished.
